why us

Location

We are the ONLY instrument specialist Music College, with centres based around the country. This makes it as easy  as possible for students to study close to home, potentially saving the cost and stress of re-locating. See the map on the front of the website to find your local centre.

Funding

Many Colleges charge £4-5000 per year for very similar, instrument specific, music courses of this calibre.

All of our courses attract funding and the vast majority of our students are eligible for their course to be fully funded! How great is that?  The funding may vary however, depending on your age and what qualifications you may have studied already. You must check your details with the funding criteria of your local Academy centre and our college partner in that area.

You and Your Instrument

We focus your day to day lessons on YOUR chosen instrument.  Your core lessons are delivered entirely in your instrument group and in specialist classrooms, that maximise your time learning your instrument. Our opinion is, this form of teaching is far more useful, progressive and relevant to aspiring musicians, rather than learning in general music classes with other instruments, which is the case at local general Colleges.

Our Curriculum

The curriculum is a vital component of any successful course. Great facilities and teachers mean nothing without a well written, structured course to teach the students. We don`t take any chances and we have employed a writing team that has put together a variety of world class courses. See our instrument heads to see who wrote Your course.

Our Teachers

You will learn from musicians who teach and not just music teachers. There is a big difference! We draw from a huge network of musicians from around the country and are very careful to place the right people in front of our students. They all need to have technical excellence, varied and valuable musical experience as well as the correct academic qualifications and communications skills to deliver our demanding curriculum.

Masterclasess / Activities weeks

The Academy runs three Activities weeks per year. There is a cost for these activities and your local centre will have exact details, but these weeks give our students un-paralleled  access to Musicians, Producers, Managers and Agents from right across the musical spectrum. Many are world renowned and have played, managed or worked with some of the biggest names in music. There are close up instrument masterclasses, lectures with Managers with stories to tell and advise to give and agents telling you how to get gigs and most importantly keep them. See our masterclass section for details of the artists our students get to study and work with.

Our Staff

The Academy has it`s roots firmly within the Music Industry. Our Management and admin teams around the country have vast experience within the industry, locally and nationally. The all give enormous support, real world guidance and have an un-breakable affinity with you, the students.

Facilities

Long lasting relationships with three of the biggest music manufacturers in the world, gives Academy students access to the very latest technology and musical equipment. Yamaha take care of electric and acoustic drums, keyboards and guitars, Peavey supply all centres with their amplification needs and Zildjian supply all cymbals.

Every centre has a Mac suite, working on Pro-tools software and  a VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) where you study on line and can track lessons at home and download the relevant lessons notes and tunes for your weekly classes.
