The Academy of Music & Sound Edinburgh in conjunction with the University of West London, are looking for an exceptional lecturer for our Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree in Music & Sound course.
Person will have a good understanding of teaching at Higher Education Level within the curriculum area of music business. A background as a practitioner in these fields is important. Strong interpersonal skills and a drive to educate and support students whilst working within an accredited course framework is essential.
The role will encompass teaching, assessment and administration of this module and their corresponding administration within a set curriculum framework. There’s the opportunity of additional project supervision work too for students undertaking a project within this specialism on the course.
The ideal candidate will hold a Postgraduate Degree/Qualification in Music, or an equivalent Level 7 post-graduate qualification in a related field.
– Masters’ degree or equivalent in Music or a related field
– Strong interpersonal skills
– Great organisational skills
– Current practice within the music industry
– Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word and Excel
– Ability to work under own initiative
– Experience in teaching at HE level
– High level of skill in performance and/or production
Proficiency in performing administrative tasks
Time Commitment – 2 hours per week @ £25ph, 12 weeks a year from October to January. Additional hours for marking and training/quality assurance.
