My Background
Dr James Gordon is a guitarist, singer, composer, and music lecturer with over twenty years of music industry experience. He has a PhD in Music Composition from the University of Nottingham, with a focus on practice-based research, musical creativity, and creativity support tools. He completed his BA and Masters with AMS Online, so is familiar with the trials and tribulations of distance learning. He’s performed in rock, metal, and more stripped back singer-songwriter acts – from an Iron Maiden tribute band to headlining acoustic festivals to combining rock bands and string quartets – all over the UK and Europe and he writes, records, and releases his own music, wearing the various hats of composer, performer, and producer.
