My Background
Rachel Button is a British singer, Songwriter, fiddle player and vocal coach. At the forefront of the British folk music scene, she has performed at venues like The Royal Albert Hall, The Roundhouse, Kensington Palace and The Great British Folk Festival.
With a Masters degree from the London College of Music, Rachel has 10 years of experience as a vocal coach at some of Europe’s leading music schools, including AMS Online and the Academy Of Music and Sound UK. She also developed the first Popular Music Vocal Course for Langley Community Music School in BC, Canada.
Rachel has recorded with artists such as Grammy award-winning producer Paul Worley (Lady Antebelum, Dixie Chicks) and Juno award-winning producer David Kalmusky, (Journey, John Oates, Emerson Drive), as well as collaborating with fellow British country artist Fiona Culley and Canadian artist Ashley Robertson.
Their song ‘Heatwave’ was nominated for ‘Best Song of The Year 2015’ at the Manitoba Country Music Awards. Rachel has played violin since she was 4 years old through the Suzuki method, and continues to incorporates her fiddle into her own music, fusing her love of folk with contemporary vocals.
