My Background
With over a decade of experience in audio and sound production, I have trained engineers who have gone on to work with major record labels and sound design companies. I hold certifications in Pro Tools and have received specialist training from audio designers involved in the production of Hans Zimmer’s film scores. I am proficient in DAWs including Logic Pro, Pro Tools 12, and Nuendo 7. My industry-facing work includes composing and editing music and vocals for Manchester City Football Club’s CityBeats app in collaboration with Soniqplay.
My technical expertise extends to scoring software such as Notion, and I possess Masters-level proficiency in C++ programming, particularly as it relates to audio and multimedia applications.
As a composer, I have collaborated with ensembles including the Bath Orchestra, members of the Canadian Philharmonic, and the Plus Minus Orchestra. I have received seven score commissions for live performance, in addition to undertaking composition work for broadcast with Channel 4 and the BBC.
In my capacity as a performer, I have appeared at a number of prestigious UK festivals and have worked with several of the country’s leading artists. I have also mentored and trained musicians who have achieved No. 1 singles in the Billboard charts. My collaborations span a diverse group of artists, including those who have performed alongside Dizzee Rascal, Jessie J, and Steve Hackett.
Most recently, I performed guitar on Last King of Scotland by Will Atkinson, a release which reached No. 1 on the global trance album charts and No. 5 in the UK Dance Charts.
My PhD research focused on the music analysis of Michael Kamen’s compositional techniques and cinematic scoring practices.
